Carolyn Marie – Surrender:
In 2015 we got two dynamic videos, “Our Favorite Song” and “The Moment,” from unstoppably enthusiastic Carolyn Marie. This Rutgers University graduate turned heads and churned hips, flexing her diverse musical muscle with songs scanning the pop and dance spectrum. For her new single and video, “Surrender,” she drops the hammer with a propulsive jam that will get any dance floor moving and grooving.
This Jersey girl knows that “the harder you work, then the luckier you get.” This attitude is what got her in with Grammy award winning producer Earl Cohen, EMI/Sony ATV producer Synematik, got her debut EP Backstage Pass released by Swedish label Clubstream Pink, and found her charting as far away as South Korea! Her collaboration with Rutgers alumni and advocate Eric LeGrand, “Take Back The Power,” showed that she’s more than just a pretty face and a dynamic voice, she’s also a wicked smart artist.
“Surrender” first made waves when it was a finalist in the US Songwriting Competition. The slick production, impeccable vocal delivery, and perfectly paced highs and lows may seem like something studied in a songwriting textbook. The truth is, however, that these songs just come naturally to Carolyn, knowing that she should always trust her instincts.
