The Young Presidents – Loner:
When the world was first introduced to The Young Presidents, they were a dynamic songwriting duo comprised of guitarist/vocalist Jake Hertzog and bassist/vocalist Mitchell Kaneff with influences heavily rooted in classic rock and 90βs alternative. To complement their sound, they enlisted guest artists to record on their album, Coalition, including the legendary Ivan Neville, who performed on their previous video, βTime.β
Looking to round out their live shows, Hertzog and Kaneff turned to Broadway where they found vocalist Daniel Jackson, aka Djax, who was just finishing his role in the international production of βAmerican Idiot.β Next they hired drummer Cinque Ubangi Kemp β and The Young Presidents became a fully realized rock band!
The bandβs newest album release, the eclectic βFIREHORSE,β is unique for itβs style: side A on the album is the βelectricβ side, recorded and mixed at Room 17 Studios, and side B is the βacousticβ side, recorded at MKM Studios and mixed at Rubber Tracks (2 more songs were added as bonus tracks for the digital and CD releases). Their first offering from the album is the single βLoner,β its sound perfectly suited to both the rock and the acoustic.
The band kept it in-house for the βLonerβ video, giving Djax the opportunity to flex his directing skills.
