Introducing, ‘Olen’

Joshua Olen Richards (aka Olen) is a singer/songwriter/producer from Ottawa, Kansas.

Olen’s influences range from rock bands like Nirvana and Linkin Park, to rappers like 50 Cent, Tech N9ne and Kanye West, then to country singers like Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. He also has roots in electronic dance music; his key influences are Skrillex, Marshmello, Kill The Noise and Steve Aoki.
Having lived in Franklin County, Kansas his whole life, his inspiration is drawn from old-fashioned family values including respect, responsibility, and faith in God above all else. Being that Olen is from a flyover state, many young people in his region are constantly looking for something interesting and fun to intrigue themselves by; and hopefully Olen’s musically experimental and thought provoking subject matter – in addition to his passionate delivery – can fill that void.
