DownTown Mystic – One More Chance

DownTown Mystic - One More Chance

DownTown Mystic presents his new release, ‘One More Chance’

The sound of DownTown Mystic is “vintage yet modern”. The music is rooted in all the great traditions of American Rock‘n’Roll, blending story telling songs with vintage guitars and analog recording into a unique style that owes nods to Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, Eagles, The Beatles and Rolling Stones but somehow manages to sound as contemporary as anything currently available.

PRESS RELEASE:

Sha-La Music, Inc. announces the worldwide release of the new digital single One More Chance by US Rocker DownTown Mystic on August 2. The single will be sent out to worldwide Radio on the same day and follows The Wish EP released in May by Last Man Music in the UK. One More Chance is being distributed worldwide via AWAL/Kobalt Music with pre-orders available on Amazon, Apple/iTunes, etc..

The One More Chance single has 2 songs, including Read The Signs, which features longtime DownTown Mystic ally Bruce Engler. Besides co-writing both songs with DownTown’s Robert Allen, Bruce’s tasty lead guitar is featured on One More Chance and Read The Signs as well as his vocal chops on the latter song. One More Chance also features one of the last sessions by drummer Tommy Mastro, with some great bass playing from P.J. Farley of Trixter fame. Read The Signs features the same ace rhythm section from the last 2 singles of drummer Steve Holley (Paul McCartney, Ian Hunter) and bassist Paul Page (Dion, Ian Hunter).

The working relationship between DownTown Mystic Writer/Producer Robert Allen and Singer/Songwriter Bruce Engler goes back some 25 years. Robert co-produced and played on Bruce’s 1st album, Go Back, which Sha-La Music released in 2012. The writing of One More Chance came about when Robert would give Bruce the music to write a melody and lyrics to record. Robert explains, “I had this music that I’d been playing around with for a number of years and Bruce was just developing as a singer/songwriter. I thought he needed some more songs so I suggested we collaborate on this song I had. We got together and came up with the chorus and title. Bruce took it from there and hit it out of the park and the message is especially timely now. I’ve always thought that One More Chance was an important song in more ways than one.”

DownTown Mystic will be the Featured Artist on Tom Lambert’s internationally syndicated radio show The Independent Music Show, which goes out to 3600 stations around the world. One More Chance is the 3rd single to be released this year by DownTown Mystic following on the heels of The Wish and Love Light. Those singles have done exceptionally well at worldwide Radio, garnering airplay on over 550,000 stations in 40 countries, thanks in no small part to being added to stations by some of the largest In-store Media companies in the world. The singles are part of the build-up to the release of DownTown Mystic’s first album in 3 years called Better Day.
