The Berlin scene has a reputation for being dark, but Brutalismus 3000 just turned the lights out completely.
The duo has teamed up with the industrial titan Boys Noize for their latest single, “I Bring My Gun To The Function” If you were looking for a polite radio hit, you’re in the wrong place. This is a high-velocity, serrated piece of “nu-gabber-post-techno-punk” that serves as the lead wrecking ball for their upcoming sophomore album, Harmony, set to drop on June 26 via Live From Earth.
A Sonic Riot
Victoria Vassiliki Daldas and Theo Zeitner have never been interested in making “pleasant” music. They specialize in a specific brand of chaos that feels like a 90s warehouse rave colliding with a modern-day riot.
“I Bring My Gun To The Function” is exactly that:
-
The Grit: Boys Noize’s influence is all over the production—expect razor-sharp industrial textures and distorted 909 kicks that hit like a physical weight.
-
The Attitude: Victoria’s vocals are hypnotic and raw, acting as the eye of the storm.
-
The Tempo: It’s fast. Very fast. It’s the kind of track designed for mosh pits, not just dance floors.
‘Harmony’ – The New Album
The title Harmony is almost definitely a joke, because the tracklist suggests anything but peace. The album is shaping up to be a massive genre-blurring experiment, pulling in elements of nu-metal, trap, and dubstep.
The feature list alone shows how far B3K’s influence has spread. Beyond the Boys Noize collab, the album includes:
-
Electronic royalty Underworld.
-
Dylan Brady (one half of 100 gecs).
-
A surprising appearance from Anya Taylor-Joy on a track titled “Morning Is For The Happy.”
The “Anti-Techno” Movement
What makes Brutalismus 3000 so polarizing is exactly why they are essential. In a world where techno can often feel repetitive or overly polished, B3K brings back the punk ethos. They’ve described their sound as a reflection of “Weltschmerz”—that deep, global weariness—and they aren’t afraid to be loud, political, and messy.
