Wishy Lean Into the Chaos on Their Zany New Single, “Sensational”

If the world feels a little too unpredictable right now, Wishy completely gets it. The Indianapolis indie-rock favorites are back with “Sensational” the latest preview from their upcoming sophomore album, Nature’s Pill (dropping October 2 via Winspear).

Following earlier teasers like “All The Rage” and “Lovesick,” “Sensational” proves that co-songwriters Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites have mastered the art of turning modern burnout into an absolute rush.

Inside “Sensational”

Built on a foundation of hypnotic drum loops and a driving bassline that nods right back to ’90s alt-rock, “Sensational” feels like a natural evolution for the band. It’s that signature Wishy mix—sugary grunge guitars colliding with hazy, dream-pop vocals that somehow manage to sound both crisp and comforting.

At its core, the song tackles the absurdity of trying to keep it together when everything around you is spinning out. As Krauter puts it, when being in a band feels surreal against a backdrop of global chaos, you eventually reach a point where you just have to say fuck it and roll with it. Co-vocalists Krauter and Pitchkites capture that exact realization in the chorus: “Baby, it’s your life / It’s such a sick ride.”

What to Expect from Nature’s Pill

Following up their breakout 2024 debut Triple Seven, Nature’s Pill isn’t a collection of dry diary entries. Instead, Wishy leans into a slightly fictionalized, hyper-relatable mindset to dig into romantic frustration, neurotic desire, and everyday melodrama.

They take the heavy stuff and turn it into massive, instant-classic pop hooks. To match the track’s freewheeling spirit, “Sensational” arrives with a clever animated video directed by Jess Dunn, built entirely out of thousands of physical paper cutouts of the band.
