The new single βLike it wasβ from Goldzbrough was released on 15.05.20 through Inspirit Music Productions. A fresh British talent, Goldzbroughβs sound is rooted in his love of classics like Simon & Garfunkel and The Who but he has given it a major contemporary twist by collaborating with German artists and songwriters β such as Tom Olbrich, Joshua Allery and Myles Green. βLike it wasβ is the 9th record from an important new artist who has created a modern Pop sound that takes in elements of his other love, Hip-Hop. βLike it wasβ showcases both great musicianship and production skills; the track was self-produced by Goldzbrough.
The ambitious lyrical themes explored by Goldzbrough are universal and everyday. Whilst his songs are sometimes dark and compelling, the music itself is an exuberant blend of Pop and Hip-Hop. This is no surprise when you look back at his previous experience that has seen him team up on songwriting with the likes of Ryan Dusick (Maroon 5) in LA, and scores of UK acts, before heading to Germany to work with many of our great artists. He has performed live with the likes of Julian Lennon, Ed Sheeran and James Bay, and even at the legendary Royal Albert Hall.
To listen to this music is to take a journey through Goldzbroughβs experiences; the music draws in the listener by tapping into something within their own life. Truly relatable, his material veers from light to dark, high to low, as Goldzbrough taps into what it really means to live in these times.
His experiences in LA and London have played their part in the story, sure, but Goldzbroughβs style and sound is new and fresh; the result of his diverse, open-minded and inventive approach. Heβs opened up to new people, collaborated lyrically and melodically and created a wonderfully paced, emotionally hard-hitting and musically structured album.
