Emiko – Man in the Ivory Tower (Matthew, What Have You Done?)

Emiko - Man in the Ivory Tower (Matthew, What Have You Done?)

“Man in the Ivory Tower (Matthew, What Have You Done?)” is the thrilling first single from Emiko’s self produced album, “LA After the War,” which was recorded entirely in quarantine. She delivers a TKO with this radio friend epic, equal parts prog rock, symphony, and whisper-in-your-ear singer songwriter.

The song’s message about the egregious and reckless abuse of power, and the domino effect it has in people’s lives resonates loud and clear in today’s world as she takes names (this proverbially illusive “Matthew for one) but certainly no prisoners on this musical journey. While the song reflects a deeply personal experience for Emiko, she says, “No matter what it is – racism, abuse, discrimination, violence, we all have something in our lives that we seek justice for. I wrote it about my own experience but as we were recording it, I realized this is really a song for everyone. And I hope they can relate to it.”

Emiko is an award winning songwriter with a catalogue of over 3,000 works under her belt. She’s performed and appeared with such incredible artists as Cyndi Lauper, Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford, and has composed for numerous TV shows as well as feature and short films.

Emiko makes her home between LA and Las Vegas with her family, including her studio assistant, Victoria, who happens to be a bow tie wearing American Bulldog.
