What originally started as discussions for a virtual band at the beginning of the pandemic soon after turned into a very connected quartet consisting of Emiko, Mike, Bill, and Vito. The song was chosen to honor our heroes during this time from the brave frontline workers to the everyday heroes who were giving entirely of themselves to ensure so many others could survive. “When we dove deeper into the lyrics, we realized just how appropriate the song was to be reimagined in this way. From our perspective, it touches on everything from the deeply personal domestic relationships, to political and socio-economic stances. It just seemed to be the perfect expression of what was needed today.”
Recorded entirely in quarantine with the four artists spread across the country and the Atlantic Ocean, three of whom had never met prior. From this production, Exeter and Emiko grew a friendship that resulted in their video podcast series “Across The Board,” which promotes mental health and wellness in the music and entertainment industry.
Emiko is an award winning film composer and singer-songwriter with a catalogue of over 3,000 songs. Since starting in music at age two, she’s graced the pages of Billboard, Music Connection, FM Sound, Keyboard Magazine, and countless other publications as an award winning songwriter for SONY/ATV, Universal Music Group, InGrooves, Fontana, and now 37 Records/McJames Music Publishing. Her music can be heard worldwide on TV shows, in films, and even on the theater stage and she can be seen appearing with the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Major Lazer, Marcus Mumford and more.
Mike Exeter is an Grammy award winning record producer who came to prominence via his work with British rock bands Cradle of Filth, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and more.
Bill Hubauer is a multi-instrumentalist / vocalist from western Pennsylvania. He is best known for his work in the Progressive Rock world with The Neal Morse Band, and We Came From Space.
Vito Pandolfo is best known for his work as the touring drummer for Emiko, having recorded with the likes of Grammy nominated,multi-platinum selling producer, Tommy Faragher, Lena Hall (Kinky Boots, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, HBO’s Snowpiercer) and more. Additionally, Vito is a music director and composer for video games, animated graphic novels, and more.
