Briana Calhoun – Wash You Off My Mind

Briana Calhoun announces her new single, ‘Wash You Off My Mind’

Briana Calhoun is a singer/songwriter with an eclectic style of Country, Pop, Americana, and Folk. Originally from Dallas, Tx., she learned to love music at an early age from her mother and grandfather — both musicians. She moved to Louisiana at the age of 12 and can safely attest that writing songs was her saving grace during some difficult times to follow.

“I went through a lot of personal and family struggles in my teens and early 20’s and writing was my way to get outside of my situation and comfort myself. I think my songs are very relatable, especially to other women, because I know I’m not the only one. I’d like to believe my music helps others get through whatever they might be battling— it’s about self-empowerment.”

In addition to her music, Briana is a mom, wife, and teacher. She feels blessed to have been given her talents and tries to use them to the betterment of others. “Music is my passion, but I know God made me a teacher for a reason. If I can help foster a young person’s talent or dreams— that’s when I feel the most fulfilled.”
If you come to one of Briana’s shows, you’re likely to hear a wide variety of acoustic covers and originals. Some of her favorite artists to cover are Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran, but she also enjoys classics and contemporaries.
“When I cover other songs my goal is for every person in the room to say, ‘I love this song!’ at least once during the set. And that’s a tall order because there’s a lot of different styles out there, but I like to entertain and I absolutely love when people sing along with me.”

Briana’s original music is comparable to the styles of Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves.
Her songs are available on iTunes and Spotify. She released her first EP “999” in October and re-released an original single “Playing Pretend” in August of 2016.
