Swedish cinematic metal royalty Imminence have always thrived on extremes, but their latest move proves they don’t need a wall of distortion to leave a mark. Fresh off the massive response to heavy-hitting singles like “The Sword That Never Bends” and “False Light,” the band is changing the narrative with “Crestfallen”

This one drops the aggressive breakdowns in favor of pure atmosphere, serving as the latest taste of their upcoming sixth full-length album, Axis Mundi, dropping October 2 via Sumerian Records.

Stripping It Back

If “False Light” showed the band’s jagged, bruising side, “Crestfallen” leans entirely into the haunting melodies that set them apart from the rest of the modern heavy scene. Driven by Eddie Berg’s unmistakable clean vocals and his signature, weeping violin lines, the track plays out more like a cinematic score than a standard metalcore track.
