Darkness hold space for light to shine I’ve learned to be one with my shadow because it’s always a part of me. If I sever my shadow from myself I become invisible. If I get lost in it, I become in invisible. Darkness is necessary. If we were always in the light we would get burned. If we always looked to the light, we’d be blind. For every time we open our eyes we must also close them. We spend all day with our eyes open and all night with our eyes closed. In daylight you still blink, allowing darkness to reset our ability to see. My shadow follows me all day holding in it everything that light can’t touch. Because It can’t touch all of me always. My shadow reminds me that I’m here still. The smaller the light gets, the bigger my shadow grows. I’ve learned to reject the idea that my shadow is a demon on my back and instead embrace it as a friend. Faithful, real, and grounding. Dark matter makes up 85% of the universe. It can’t be seen, but it can be felt… and that’s how I feel, unseen but overwhelmingly felt.
