Wasia Project Lean Into Late-Night Club Euphoria on Their New Single, “Vogue”

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Wasia Project, you already know they don’t really do ordinary pop music. The sibling duo made up of Will Gao (whom you might also recognize from Netflix’s Heartstopper) and Olivia Hardy have a knack for blending classical foundations with bleeding-edge indie sensibilities.

Now, they’re gearing up for their debut album, Nocturne (due out September 18 via AWAL Recordings), and they’ve given us one final taste with their new single, “Vogue”.

Stepping Into the After-Hours

Produced by longtime collaborators St. Francis Hotel (the folks behind work for Adele, Little Simz, and Arcade Fire), “Vogue” pulls back on some of the acoustic intimacy of their older material in favor of a sleek, after-hours pulse.

It’s built around a hypnotic, techno-leaning rhythm that lets Olivia Hardy’s vocals slide effortlessly between soft warmth and absolute cool. The whole track feels like walking out of a quiet street and straight into a dark, thumping club.

As the duo themselves put it:

“‘Vogue’ is an ethereal, club-inspired song, about surrendering to desire rather than resisting it. It’s euphoric, sensual, and immersive, exploring the anticipation of where a night might lead, the electricity of connection and the feeling of being completely consumed by someone.”

That heavy sense of anticipation—where every glance across a crowded room feels electric—bleeds through every second of the track. It’s no surprise BBC Radio 1 snapped it up as a Hottest Record.

Building Toward Nocturne

“Vogue” caps off a stellar run of singles that have been slowly mapping out the world of Nocturne. Over the past few months, we’ve had:

  • “Whale Call” (which featured in Heartstopper Forever)

  • “Bleeding Gold”

  • “2515” (a darker, punchier track that showed just how far their songwriting palette has expanded)

Altogether, Nocturne is shaping up to be a 12-track exploration of youth, modern isolation, and the messy beauty of growing up, all filtered through their distinct cinematic lens.

Catch Them Live This Fall

If you want to hear these tracks in their proper habitat, the band is about to head out on their biggest U.K. and European headline tour yet. Following packed-out piano runs and high-profile support slots (like touring alongside Laufey), they’ll be hitting cities like London, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Berlin this autumn.

“Vogue” is out everywhere now. Grab a pre-save for Nocturne before it drops on September 18.
