With a flawless flow and hard-hitting beats, Marvelous Southstar’s ‘Cartervelli’ is an album to get lost in. Over the course of the album Marvelous Southstar’s delivery is pitch-perfect as each song offers yet another snapshot of life. Effortlessly weaving together elements of dubstep, dance, hip-hop, and even a little pop, the pieces are kaleidoscopic in their dazzling color. This impressive plethora of styles is given a great deal of polish courtesy of JoJo F’s attention to detail. A wide variety of textures are employed throughout the album giving it a gorgeous, almost labyrinth type feel. By letting these tracks build off of each other an entire story emerges.
