Danish singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Fine has just shared “Everything in the Shade” the lead single from her upcoming sophomore album, Jazz Dreams, arriving October 23 via Escho.

Following her 2024 breakout debut Rocky Top Ballads, this new track leans into the quiet, surreal spaces Fine does best. Self-produced, recorded, and mixed by the artist, “Everything in the Shade” is built around a warm, understated piano progression that feels both intimate and expansive.

Lyrically, the song moves with a dreamlike logic. Lines like “you wanna think slow you wanna act fast, feel the rain and turn the stone” capture a bittersweet mood of release and quiet longing. Musically, it bridges classic singer-songwriter structures with avant-garde pop textures, evoking comparisons everyone from Carole King to Scott Walker.

The track also comes paired with a nostalgic, pixelated official music video directed by Betty Krag.

“Everything in the Shade” joins previous digital drops like “I Could,” “Run,” “Moment,” and “Portal” as part of Fine’s upcoming 13-track collection. Over the past sixteen months, the album has taken shape organically through live shows, NTS radio broadcasts, and a growing underground buzz.

Speaking on the creative process behind the record, Fine shared: “Making records, it is not linear. Something is thrown into a room, and the bizarre is simply accepted, without ever feeling strange, you surrender to the dream’s own logic. It’s cruel, but it’s also freeing.”
