Leading the charge is her magnetic new pop-soul single, “Sun and Moon”—an upbeat, groove-heavy anthem built around a hard-earned truth.

“I love that this song is upbeat but the lyrics are quite sad. The sun and moon provide a beautiful symbol of two lovers who spend a life chasing each other but never quite coming together. The drums and tempo of the song remind me of the push and pull chase that I’ve been in more than I’d like to admit. It’s not until the end where the drums stop that she realizes how exhausted she is with the game and longs for something deeper.”

Instead of romanticizing the cycle, Ponder turns heartbreak into an act of self-redemption.

Long before she was commanding global stages, playing late-night TV, and soundtracking major campaigns, Ponder was a public defender deep in the trenches of criminal justice reform.

She balanced music for years before taking the full-time leap in 2021 at the age of 39, famously noting: “The lawyer is going to kill me, but the artist is going to save me.”

Following her celebrated 2022 debut, Some of Us Are Brave, Ponder has shed any lingering doubts. With this new album, she isn’t trying to prove she belongs anymore—she has arrived, fully stepping into her power.
