By all accounts, this record is going to be massive. Green spent time recording in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London, even finding his way to Neil Young’s historic Broken Arrow Ranch in California to lay down tracks. The album is shaping up to be a globe-trotting project, featuring collaborations with Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, and others. He’s weaving together Urdu, Japanese, and English, plus some fascinating, dusty samples—even touching on traditional Chinese guzheng melodies.
