Corey Kent’s “Everyday Life” Keeps Country Real on New Single

Corey Kent is trading high-gloss production for an honest-to-goodness snapshot of home. With his new single “Everyday Life”, out now via Sony Music Nashville, the multi-Platinum artist is pulling back the curtain on his life off-stage and previewing his upcoming third major-label record, Heartland Rock and Roll.

Instead of pushing another over-the-top stadium anthem, Kent leans into the kind of feel-good, rootsy optimism we haven’t heard the likes of since Travis Tritt’s “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive”.

What “Everyday Life” Is All About

Co-written by Kent alongside Austin Goodloe, Matt Roy, and Lydia Vaughan, the track grounds itself right out of the gate—literally. The opening seconds feature the actual voices of Kent’s kids, setting an unfiltered tone that runs through the whole song.

Lyrically, it’s a direct nod to the grind of working hard and realizing that peace of mind beats chasing perfection every single time:

“Got it good, got it made, got a lot you can’t buy / Got a wife, got some kids, we’ve been keeping on the lights / It’s some work, it’s a grind, still I go to bed at night / Thanking God every day for this everyday life.”

It’s also a rare personal move for Kent, who usually keeps his home life private. That vulnerability spills over into the official music video, marking the very first time his family has appeared in one of his visual projects.
