Tiny Fighter presenting their new song, ‘Standing Tall’
Surprise! It’s midnight in Stockholm and we’ve just dropped a super-secret summer surprise EP “New Day” – available to stream everywhere right now! It features two brand new songs: Tokyo and Standing Tall as well as a cover of Gyllene Tider’s summer anthem Juni, Juli, Augusti (fun fact for non-Swedes: Gyllene Tider was the legendary Per Gessle’s pre-Roxette jangle-pop band).
Summer songs are somewhat of a Swedish tradition – you never quite know when summer will end in Scandinavia and it usually happens suddenly and without warning. So the fact we all go about treating each summer day like it could be our last ever may have something to do with these seasonal creative outbursts. We’ve always wanted to do a summer EP and we got idea for New Day whilst recording our acoustic album (coming out later this year, we promise).
A couple of notable firsts for us on this record: the first time we’ve ever sung in our native Swedish, the first appearance of our long time photographer/videographer/documentarian @mecno on backing vocals (the man is full of hidden talents).
