Sid Hagan – Holdin Down The Bottom

Sid Hagan - Holdin Down The Bottom

Sid Hagan presenting his new single,  ‘Holdin Down The Bottom’

A song I wrote after my dear friend Mike Howell passed late last year. I met Mike in 1969 and was in several bands with him from then until 1973 when I left for the Army and then again in 1981 after I left the Army. We were wild, crazy, fearless, and early on had no idea what we were doing. Mike was a great bassist from the get go and I’m sure at the time I didn’t have enough knowledge or experience to get that. The last time I saw him in person is when I got fired from the band he’d brought me to. When he passed I felt compelled to pay tribute to what a great musician and friend he’d been to me and everyone else. In his last band, The Spies Of Life, he was referred to as, “The Bass Commander”. And when he left us, a part of me left with him.

The Players Are:
Me – acoustic guitars and voices
Jonathan Mills – bass guitar
Brian Wooten – electric guitar
Devon Sproule – voices
Paul Curreri – everything else

It was produced by me and Paul Curreri

I’m incredibly fortunate and humbled to work with such mighty musicians.
