Olga Layevska paying tribute to Italian composer Ruggero Leoncavallo with new release, as well as introducing new single, Dawn.
Olga Layevska is an artist from Ukraine. She was born in a Military family, and this means that she traveled constantly through many areas of what was then the Soviet Union. In those day, she took a lot of trains with her family, moving from place to place, and often sang along to the songs that she heard on the radio. She finally settled in Ukraine with her family, and took up piano lesson, learning music in school and perfecting her talent with formal skills. She continued to study and perfect her craft, often studying under world-class teachers who had a strong impact on her foundations. Currently, Olga is based in Canada, where she continues to record and perform.
Recently, she released an astonishing collection of timeless compositions from Ruggero Leoncavallo, an Italian composer. The sound of these compositions is sunny, bright and melodic, and Olga’s voice is a perfect fit with the richness and depth of this material. Her new single, “Dawn,” in particular, showcases Olga’s sultry and dynamic vocal range, giving audiences a glimpse into her gift for singing with emotion and personality, without leaving technical excellence behind.
