“What For” is the 3rd full EP release from independent artist John McCabe. This project follows on 2017’s “Flower Circle” release and 2019’s “These Years”. Written, Recorded and Produced by McCabe at his home studio in Southern California, the 6-song effort was developed in the early days of quarantine and was officially released on 17th September.
McCabe played all instruments, managed all of the drum / percussion design and was assisted by John Kimbrough, who played bass on the title track, “Used to Say”, “Disagree” and ‘Paint”. Since late September, the singles, “On the Other Hand” and “Paint” have been released across all digital platforms.
The project was Mixed by El Kabong and Mastered by Jason Deift. If and when venues start to open up, look for solo shows featuring tunes from “What For” and full band performance with his band ‘Good at Rockets’ in early 2021.
