Introducing Proklaim

rap-guy

Birungi Kiremire also known to his fans and followers as “Proklaim” is the proud product of Ugandan parents, and was raised in Zambia. It was there that he spent the majority of his childhood, and was introduced to hip-hop culture and music through a neighborhood friend.
He became awed by both the beats and lyrics, was totally inspired, and remained a fan throughout his life up until his final year of college, when he began to embrace the thought of actually trying to rap in 2006.
He started out playing some guitar and rapping along with it, yet he knew that it was going to be a very difficult task to reach the market he wanted to become recognized in, because of his geographical location. So he began to pay attention to detail….and began writing about the things that were going on both in his life, and in his country.
His very first recording was in 2009….and people have begun to listen, because they can relate to the messages in his lyrics and his real life depictions. Consequently he has become a local celebrity, but his aspirations of evolving into an international star still remain.
His favorite artists include, but are not limited to, Lauryn Hill, Nas, the Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay-Z and Big Pun, which obviously means that he’s done his homework. It also brings validation to the statement that “music is a universal language, and is a worldwide phenomenon”.
In 2015, Kult Status began building a body of work that he plans to release in a series of mixtapes later this year, and in early 2015 titled….”Left Field”.
When you hear him, you will come to understand why he is a force to be reckoned with! So be sure to join Kult Status as his journey continues….
