Ford Sharpless – Blue? (Review)

Check out this music review of the brand new single, “Blue?” released by Ford Sharpless

Ford Sharpless is an artist who set out to bring a very special personality to his blend of hip-hop. Recently, he completed working on a brand new project and he released a single titled “Blue?” – this song is particularly special because it showcases the artists ability to combine excellent production values with personal instrumental melodies that are far removed from the usual cliché as that one would expect to hear in the genre. The single appears on Ford’s brand new album, “The Cool Era.” This full length release features 13 studio tracks, including this single itself, which stands out as one of the highlights on the album because of its textures and variety of sound. The track begins with a very understated melody and some vocal parts, but later it dies deeper into a moody beat, inspired by trip-hop and chill-wave, among other styles. Sounds of artists as diverse as Flying Lotus as well as Massive Attack and even Nosaj Thing are definitely going to connect with the sound of this release.
