donSmith, formerly known as Darnell Smitherson, is an artist, producer and performer with a truly unique approach to his sound.
Ever since he was 10 years old, Darnell set out to learn all about building powerful rhymes and creating stunning productions that highlight the artist’s drive and talent. His most recent studio release, Penfield, tips the hat off to some of the best rappers on the scene, including Nas, Talib Kweli, J. Cole, as well as Drake, only to mention a few.
This new release also features some great collaborators, including Chuck Strangers of Pro.ERA, Mick Jenkins, and Salomon Faye. This release marks a significant step forward in the career of this talented artists, who continues to inspire and engage the audience in huge numbers. donSmith has performed through some of NYC’s finest independent venues, and he shows no signs of slowing down!
