CHA CHA has dropped his new single, ‘Stuck in a Dream’
Stuck in a Dream is all about unlocking a place within your mind where your dreams become reality. I came up with the piano riff which runs throughout the song at around 3AM after a full day in my studio. The rest just flowed and a felt like there was a little bit of magic created that night.
Originally known as DJ Chuck-E from the early age of 18 playing my first warehouse/nightclub gigs, I made my way up the DJ chain in the Melbourne Electronic Dance music scene.
DJ’ing at some of Melbourne’s biggest dance parties including Welcome 2000, Two Tribes, Kryal Castle, headlining the main rooms with acts such as The Freestylers, Jeff Mills, Space DJ’s, Juan Atkins, Derric Carter, Derrick May, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke, to name a few, we paved the way for underground music across the city. Hosting our own parties & weekly nights such as Text Book Acid, Filter, Alkaline, Red Heads, Solid Session (Seven Nightclub), we built a following for underground dance music in Melbourne. After an overseas trip and many life lessons, I reinvented myself as CHA CHA coming back to my roots and following the one thing that has always come naturally & straight from my heart, music.
